Cares: Provide hands-on care to the resident, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) as part of their Plan of Care. This includes dressing, grooming, meals, mouth care, toileting, bathing, walking and other transferring techniques. Observe changes in resident and carry out simple treatment procedures while working with the Charge Nurse. Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration). Encourage socialization through activities and resident interaction. Talk with and listen to resident during cares and offer support and comfort to resident who is dying, and their family.
Collaborate: Work closely with the activities department, volunteers and housekeeping. Experience frequent contact and communication with staff, residents, family members and visitors.
