Overview:
Join us and support M Health Fairviews Women's Health PT Residency program! We are seeking a Women's Health PT Clinical Residency Coordinator. Fairview has PT residents/fellows in a Sports/Division 1 specialty, Orthopedic focused PT Residency, Womens Health focused PT Residency, and OT/Hand Therapy fellowships. Each program is separately credentialed and requires a separate Coordinator. This position provides direction and day-to-day management of educational and program activities to include administrative support to director pertaining to the Women's Health program and educational coordination between faculty, clinical instructors, physicians, athletic trainers, hand therapists, and institutional and regulatory administrative offices.
The Clinical Residency Coordinator is also a member of a multi-disciplinary rehab team and provides patient care, within the physical therapy, or occupational therapy scope of practice, and on-site supervision of physical or occupational therapy Resident(s)/Fellow(s).
FTE 1.0, authorized to work 80 hours per pay period. Responsibilities/Job Description:
The Women's Health Residency Clinical Coordinator will collaborate with the Clinic Director, Community Sports Medicine Director, other Coordinators of Residency programs, and other faculty in assessing needs, establishing objectives and determining short-term and long-term plans to ensure services provided at M Health Fairview are consistent with the Fairview philosophy.
Evaluates and reassesses patient condition Gathers pertinent data
Performs appropriate examination
Determines physical therapy/Occupational therapy diagnosis
Determines plan of care Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks
Determines prognosis for recovery
Establishes goals with patient or caregiver
Implements and modifies plan of care based on reassessment and patient response
Coordinates care and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team to achieve desire outcomes
Establishes appropriate discharge plan
Provides appropriate and effective interventions Educates patient and family on appropriate care
Complies with standards of productivity and time management
Provides proper documentation of interventions provided
Supervises and directs appropriate members of rehab team Delegate tasks appropriately to assistants/clerks/aides/transporters/extenders
Participates in Residency Administrative team meetings, contributes to strategic planning, scorecard development, operational decision-making, other Residency/Fellowship related business activities
Staff Development Participates in the interviewing/hiring process of the residents/fellows
Creation/modification of residents schedules
Provides and documents ongoing training for Resident(s)/Fellow(s) including orientation, in-servicing, and sharing clinical expertise through direct teaching/mentoring
Facilitates goal development and ongoing review of achieving goals
Supports educational plan
Facilitate/coordinate speakers/content for didactic portion of residency/fellowship
Guide/mentor resident/fellow for yearly presentations including grand rounds, teaching at academic programs, and journal club
Coordinates other experiences for Resident(s)/Fellow(s) including shadowing of our multi-disciplinary team, continuing education opportunities, research, and community service at the Philips Neighborhood Clinic
Maintains communication with residents/fellows, directors, providers, and other support staff to assure high quality of experience for patients and Resident(s)/Fellow(s).
Serves as a resource to answer clinical questions, offers available resources/educational opportunities, mentoring.
Serves as an advocate and resource consultant for the staff through communication with other hospital departments, physicians, external agencies, University of Minnesota Athletic Training Room, regional DPT/OT programs, and groups regarding programs and operation of the physical therapy and occupational therapy services at MHealth Fairview.
Monitor and provide feedback on residents/fellows clinical performance (RVU, show rates, average charge, volume, etc.)
Provides oversight and management of the Physical Therapy/Occupational Residency/Fellowship Program Program development and mentoring
Communication/oversight with/of other mentors of the program
Advertising/promoting the residency/fellowship programs
Provide yearly presentations and/or providing Residency/Fellowship Slide Deck to DPT programs in the Midwest to recruit applicants for our program
Residency/Fellowship directors will be active members on social media providing updates regarding our program and assisting with posting residency content
Maintain/update information on our residency/fellowship websites
Maintains credentialing of program through the American Physical Therapy Association, American Occupational Therapy Association or other national credentialing body.
Completion of Annual Continuous Improvement Report through ABPTRFE
Updates curriculum per Description of Residency Practice through ABPTRFE to reflect current practice.
Communicates required residency/fellowship policies and procedures with faculty, staff, and administration in accordance with ABPTRFE/AOTA standards.
Maintains documentation required by ABPTRFE/AOTA to demonstrate residency/fellowship compliance with mentoring and didactic hours, professional development, and clinical performance.
Measures outcomes of residency/fellowship programming through tracking ABPTS Board Certification Pass rates and post-residency job performance
Tracks benchmark goals and adjusts curriculum and staffing to reflect improvement processes.
Leads 5 and/or 10 year ABPTRFE/AOTA accreditation process for residency/fellowship.
Acts as liaison with outside agencies and outside rotation site personnel
Qualifications:
Required Licensed in the State of MN to practice Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy
Five years of experience as clinical Physical or Occupational Therapist with appropriate experience to be able to administrate the programs
Certification as a Clinical Instructor Level 1
Clinical educator or instructor experience
Preferred Supervisory experience
Clinical Instructor Level 2
Board certifications in Womens Health Physical Therapy (WCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists
