Big-D Construction has an opportunity for a Field Engineer to join our team of construction professionals based out of St. Paul, MN.
Primary Responsibilities: Ensures a high level of compliance with safety requirements across all areas of the project. Maintains required safety training and enforces company safety policies. Manages and organizes all quality control checklists within area of responsibility. Verifies that all ongoing and completed work complies with contract documents. Motivates those around them and maintains high level of production and morale. Assists with field inspections with various entities (municipal, 3rd party, designers etc.) Understands contractual responsibilities, contract documents and specifications. Assist with shop drawing and submittal reviews. Assists in project information flow internally and externally Assists with daily reporting as delegated by Area Superintendent, Project Superintendent or Senior Superintendent. Monitors activities at construction sites. Ensure construction progresses as scheduled. Preparation of lift drawings. Coordinate material deliveries and track Delivery schedules. Verify materials delivered to the job comply with the project specifications and Contract Documents. Assist in creating punch lists, direct/schedule subcontractors to make corrections and verifies that all deficiencies are abated. Direct/coordinate a small crew(s) (self-perform or subcontractors) Direct/coordinate a small scope of work with guidance from an Area Superintendent, Project Superintendent or Senior Superintendent. Site layout and surveying. Assist in creating punch lists, direct/schedule subcontractors to make corrections and verifies that all deficiencies are abated.
Other duties as requested. Required Skills:Demonstrated passion for completing work. Professional self-starter. Proactive, tenacious, and persistent at completing assigned responsibilities. High energy. Works well as part of a team. Qualifications:Applicants must reside in or have immediate plans to relocate to the St. Paul area. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in construction management, engineering or related field experience with 3 months to 2 years' experience. Experience is not required but highly preferred. 2+ years as a tradesman in the construction industry.
