The Clinical Engineering Specialist is responsible for the senior level servicing and preventative maintenance, electrical safety inspections, performance verification, and repairs on highly technical clinical equipment, documentation of all work performed; to participate in safety, and quality improvement programs as directed; and to perform related duties as assigned.
Other responsibilities include:
Evaluates malfunctioning equipment, troubleshoots, calibrates and repairs electronic equipment. Perform scheduled safety testing and preventive maintenance. Provides Clinical Support Issues purchase orders and requisitions for parts, supplies and equipment. Work schedule: FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly), Day Shift
Required Qualifications:
Education: Minimum two-year technical degree in Clinical Engineering or minimum 4 years of clinical experience will substitute.
Experience: Six - eight years of experience in Biomedical Electronics with the ability to maintain and repair ventilators, anesthesia machines, radiology equipment or other highly technical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Minimum two-year technical degree in Clinical Engineering.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Certification as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician through the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) or equivalent.
