Centralized Rehabilitation Admissions Nurse

Job Description

Regions is seeking an experienced RN with excellent customer service skills and sound clinical assessment and decision making skills to join our Regions Hospital Rehabilitation Institute. The Centralized Rehab Admissions Nurse (CR?Ne) is responsible for marketing Regions Hospital Rehabilitation Institute services to internal and external customers. This role is also expected to develop and maintain the desired census and waiting list volumes to achieve targeted goals. The CR?Ne performs activities and duties related to preadmission screening and assessment across the rehabilitation continuum of care. The CR?Ne is expected to regularly interface with the interdisciplinary team for formal/informal consultation in addition to providing regular updates on referral status, bed availability, payer authorization, and anticipated date/time of admission.
The CR?Ne role will build and sustain relationships with hospitals and facilities in the HealthPartners system (e.g. Capitol View Transitional Care Center, Westfields Hospital, Hudson Hospital, Lakeview Hospital, and Park Nicollet Health Services). A core responsibility of the CR?Ne role is to facilitate the admissions process for the final Physical Medicine &Rehabilitation (PM&R) provider decisions.

Required Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in nursing A minimum of 3 years in nursing environment; 2 of these years in clinical setting directly working with the rehabilitation of chronically or catastrophically ill/injured individuals. Licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Performance Assessment Indicator - Quality Indicator (IRF PAI - QI) certified required within 90 days of hire Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing Minimum 1 year experience as nurse liaison or successful sales experience in healthcare environment preferred Certification in Nursing (i.e. Medical Surgical C-RN, Rehabilitation CRRN or Critical Care CCRN) to be completed within 3 years of hire.
