We are seeking an Advanced Controls Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing team. This team focuses on providing advanced automation solutions for the aerospace industry, where precision and reliability are paramount. In this role, you will design and implement cutting-edge control systems that enhance performance and safety in complex applications. Success Criteria
As an Advanced Controls Engineer, your work will be essential in the design and optimization of control systems for complex aerospace applications. You'll collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team, applying your expertise in control cabinet layout, schematic generation, and assembly diagrams using CAD software. Your proficiency in machine cabling design, including cable selection and connector design, will contribute to creating efficient and functional systems.
Your strong grasp of basic electronic components and PLC programming will enhance system performance and ensure seamless integration of critical machinery components. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications, operating instructions, and test plans, ensuring all systems meet established standards. Additionally, your willingness to travel for onsite machinery installation and commissioning will be key to successfully executing projects from concept design to final integration.

Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in control system design, including: Control cabinet layout, schematic generation, and assembly diagrams using CAD software (AutoCAD electrical is a plus) Machine cabling design including cable selection and connector design Knowledge of basic electronic components such as digital and analog devices, RTD temperature sensors, strain gauge sensors, LVDT sensors and linear and rotary encoders. PLC programming, with knowledge of networks/protocols, safety programming, and machine control (Allen Bradley Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Portal preferred) Creation of technical documentation including system specifications, operating instructions, and test plans Familiarity with standards such as NFPA, NEC, and UL508A Experience with selecting and configuring Siemens S120 electric drives and motors is a plus Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatic systems is a plus Willingness to travel for onsite machinery installation and commissioning (typically 10%, up to 25% as needed).
