Eaton’sPower Components Division is currently seeking a Lead Designer (Drafter) tojoin our team.This position is based at our Haina facility.
The LeadDesigner (Drafter) designs can be static or dynamic, including but notlimited to designing components, assemblies and structures containingcomponents. Design output would includebut not limited to modeling conceptual ideas, creating patent drawings, partdrawings, part lists, assembly drawings, manufacturing instruction drawings ordrawings for instruction books.
- Prepares drawings with providedinstructions defined by project team. Produces design layouts and documentationfor the construction and testing of prototype models and evaluates designs for fits,tolerance stack, volume, etc., using CAD tools
- Create and interpret drawingsand layout of raw materials, parts, assemblies, schematics, wiring diagrams,publications and specifications set by the manager of the area under theguidance of Marketing, Engineering and Manufacturing.
- Prepare tables, curves, tablesand drawings. Update changes and additions to existing drawings and diagrams.
- Realize changes and additionsfor existing drawings and diagrams, according to requirements.
- Execute the design activitieswith high technical skills and independent trial.
- Ensure that all designs andmaterials are correct.
- Use software and tools to theirfull capacity.
- Accomplish other instructionsassigned by manager
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications SB05:
- Associate Degree in Mechanicaland/or Electrical Drafting or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years (or more)experience in engineered drafting work involving CAD tools.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish.
- Ability to apply or exercisecorporate standards related to mechanical or electrical drafting.
- Computer knowledge: MS OfficeApplications, Freehand, AutoCAD, Pro/E and Power PCB.
- Special knowledge: Fairknowledge of Eaton Electrical products and application of agency standards suchas UL, NEMA, KEMA, IEC, CE, NEC, and DEMKO.
Required (Basic) Qualifications SB04:
- Minimum education to include:High school graduate with credits in Algebra, Plane Geometry and Physicsdesirable.
- Preferred education equivalentto Associate Degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Drafting or equivalentexperience.
- 1 year (or more) experience inengineered drafting work involving CAD tools.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish.
- Ability to apply or exercisecorporate standards related to mechanical or electrical drafting.
- Computer knowledge: Freehand,Illustrator, AutoCAD, MS Office Applications. Desired: Easy Label Software,Pro/E and/or Power PCB, Solid Works.
- Desirable Special knowledge:Fair knowledge of Eaton Electrical products and application of agency standardssuch as UL, NEMA, KEMA, IEC, CE, NEC, and DEMKO.
